About Me
Hello, I’m Madhawa.
I’m 42 years old, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of traveling the world.
As a child, travel wasn’t something I could do — it was something I read. Around the age of 10 or 11, I read everything I could get my hands on, especially adventure stories. Books became my passport.
Stories like The Count of Monte Cristo, Robinson Crusoe, The Coral Island, and many others filled my imagination and shaped my dreams. But one book stayed with me more than most — Martin Rattler.
It tells the story of a young boy from England who meets a sailor named Barney, runs away from home, survives a shipwreck, and ends up deep in the Amazon rainforest. Their adventures — the danger, the wonder, the unknown — captured my heart. From the moment I read that book, I knew I wanted to follow those footsteps. I wanted to see the world, feel it, and live those adventures for myself.
That dream never really left me.
In 2007, carrying that dream quietly in my heart, I came to England. But life, as it often does, had other plans. Survival came first. Responsibilities grew. The dream was put on hold.
I worked, struggled, and focused on getting through each day — and somewhere along the way, I drifted away from the things I truly loved.
Recently, my life went through many changes. Those changes forced me to stop and reflect — to truly look at myself and the path I had been running on. I realized I had been living a never-ending race, chasing stability, while leaving my dream behind.
That’s when I made a decision.
I decided to give life to my dream again.
Life Reborn Through Travel is not about luxury trips or perfect journeys. It’s about rediscovering yourself through movement, stories, cultures, and real experiences. It’s about starting again — even at 42.
On this journey, sometimes I will travel alone. Sometimes I’ll travel with my partner. And sometimes, most importantly, I’ll travel with my son — sharing with him the same sense of wonder I once found in books.
This blog is my way of sharing that journey with you — honestly, imperfectly, and openly.
If you’ve ever felt like life made you pause your dreams…
If you’ve ever wanted to begin again…
You’re not alone.
Welcome to my journey.
